About

The name Calelli is a combination of my two gorgeous childrens’ names, Calem and Elli. Where ever they are in the world, they bring me a huge amount of joy and a heap of craziness.

I’m fortunate enough to live on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This is where I’ve called home for nearly 20 years. Originally from the UK, I’ve also lived in Ireland and New Zealand (we’re a family of passport collectors!!).

We also seem to be a family of nomads who love to travel. This includes grandparents, parents and children. We’ve all been struck by the travel bug. No matter where we travel and how beautiful a destination is, it is always wonderful to fly in over Sydney Harbour and see “home”.

I have always loved photography and some of the earliest photos of me are with my brother holding little Kodak Instamatics (I’m giving away my age!). During my teens and twenties, I enjoyed photography, but never truly got into it until the digital age. Being a bit of a nerd, I love nothing more than going out taking photos, but then coming back and editing them. In more recent years, I’ve taken up drone flying (my husband will tell you that I have always droned on!). The chance to get a birds eye view is amazing.

I have often been asked where people can buy my photos. Eventually, I bit the bullet and started a market stall locally. The opportunity to meet other creatives has been wonderful, although the market experiences themselves are very much up and down. This is usually based on whether there’s a howling gale or not. I have discovered that large canvases make wonderful kites.
